Kalos Health ("Kalos", "we", "us") is a fitness and coaching business in Sydney, Australia. This policy explains how we handle your personal information in the Kalos Health app and website, in line with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 and the Australian Privacy Principles.
Questions or requests: kalos@kaloshealth.com.au.
Health information is "sensitive information" under the Privacy Act. We only collect it with your consent, when you enter it, and only use it to provide the app's features to you.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use your health information for advertising.
If you connect Apple Health (iPhone) or Health Connect (Android) in Profile, the app reads — only with your permission, and only the types you allow — your steps, active energy (calories burned), body weight, sleep times and workouts (type, duration, energy and distance). We use it to fill in your steps, weigh-ins, workout history and sleep check-ins. We never write to Apple Health or Health Connect, and we only read while you are using the app.
This health data is used only to provide the app's features to you, and by our coach to support you. It is never used for advertising or marketing, never sold, and never shared with advertising platforms such as Meta or Google. If you allow AI features, Coach K may use your logged workouts, steps or sleep to tailor its advice. Kalos Health's use of information received from Health Connect adheres to the Health Connect Permissions policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
You can stop syncing in Profile. To remove access completely: on iPhone, open the Health app (your profile → Apps → Kalos Health); on Android, open Health Connect (Settings → Health Connect → App permissions → Kalos Health). Data already imported stays in your account until you delete it or your account.
Coach K, AI meal plans, meal swaps, nutrition feedback, cycle insights and food-label scanning use artificial intelligence. To work, the relevant details are sent to AI model providers through our app platform — for example your goals, nutrition targets and preferences, logged meals or workouts, cycle logs, or the label photo.
We ask for your permission before any of your information is sent to an AI provider. You can withdraw it at any time in Profile → AI features; the AI features then stop working until you allow them again.
AI responses can be wrong. They are general information, not medical advice.
We share personal information only with the service providers that run the app, and only what each needs:
| Provider | What for | What they receive |
|---|---|---|
| Base44 (Wix) | App platform: hosting, database, sign-in, file storage and app emails | All app data |
| AI model providers, through Base44 | Run Coach K and AI features — only after you allow AI features | The profile details and logs each AI feature needs |
| Apple | Sign in with Apple and App Store subscriptions | Sign-in details; Apple handles payment |
| RevenueCat | Manages subscription status for the app | Email or Apple ID, subscription and purchase history |
| Stripe | Card payments made on our website | Email and payment details (we never see full card numbers) |
| OneSignal | Push notifications and reminders | Email (as a device identifier) and device push token |
| Edamam | Food database search | The food search terms you type — not your identity |
| Google (Firebase / Google Analytics) | App analytics, and measuring our Google ads | App usage events and an app-instance ID; subscription events (trial started, subscribed, renewed) via RevenueCat. If you allow tracking: your advertising ID and a scrambled (hashed) copy of your email |
| Meta (Facebook / Instagram) | Measuring our Facebook and Instagram ads | App installs and opens. If you allow tracking: also subscription events (trial started, subscribed) via RevenueCat, your advertising ID and a scrambled (hashed) copy of your email |
Our coach can see your workouts, nutrition, goals, messages and Coach K conversations so we can support you. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
Advertising: we advertise on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and Google. To see which ads work, the app asks your permission to track (Apple's "Allow tracking" prompt). If you allow it, we share your advertising ID, subscription events (such as starting a trial) and a scrambled (hashed) copy of your email with Meta and Google so they can match them to ad clicks. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track", we don't share your advertising ID, email or subscription events with Meta (Meta's tools in the app may still count app installs and opens in aggregated, limited form), and Google only receives app analytics and subscription events linked to a random app ID — not your email or advertising ID — with ad personalisation switched off.
We never share your health information — workouts, nutrition, weight, cycle, sleep, mindfulness or journal data — with advertising platforms. We do not sell your personal information.
Our providers store and process data on servers outside Australia, mainly in the United States and Europe. We choose established providers with security programs and contractual privacy protections.
Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored by our providers with access controls. Within the app, only you and our coach can see your health information. No system is perfectly secure; if a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we will tell you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as the law requires.
We keep your information while your account is open. You can delete your account at any time in the app (Profile → Delete Account). This deletes your account and app data straight away. Copies held in our providers' backups and logs are removed on their regular cycles, and payment records are kept by Apple, Stripe and RevenueCat where tax and consumer laws require.
Deleting your account does not cancel an Apple subscription — cancel it in your Apple settings to stop future charges.
Email kalos@kaloshealth.com.au and we will respond within 30 days. If you're not happy with how we handle a privacy complaint, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au, 1300 363 992).
The app is for people aged 16 and over. If you are under 18, please use it with a parent or guardian's agreement. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 16.
We'll update this page when our practices change and change the date at the top. For significant changes we'll also let you know in the app or by email.
